Music for Sleeping Children

Roboshobo and Dirty Robber helped animate this video for Charlie White’s ‘Music For Sleeping Children’, Directed by Molly Schiot. Our team animated thousands of stop motion images of cute toast people into the cast of characters who voice the song.

The video is part of a larger collaborative project between artist Charlie White and musician Boom Bip (Bryan Hollon). Ours is one of five videos that visualize a set of unique audio recordings of American adolescent girls set to bleepy electronic rhythms.

YAIBA: NINJA GAIDEN Z

Excitement is brewing for YAIBA: NINJA GAIDEN Z, the upcoming game in the fabled Ninja Gaiden franchise. We at Dirty Robber are proud to show you the trailer featuring our hard work.
Both IGN and Wired enjoyed it, which gives us a glimpse of how zombies, cybernetic ninjas and action-packed swordplay can all exist in one game together.
Fans of the Ninja Gaiden games are digging the trailer as well, a hurricane of meticulously detailed actions scenes from the story, shown in the cell-shaded style of a motion comic book.
Dirty Robber is thrilled to be a part of such an exciting game. We can’t wait to play it either.

ORIGIN

We’re excited to share the trailer for ORIGIN.  This was a real fun one, since we were presented with the challenge of creating both a jungle and a science lab right next to each other, seperated by a pane of plate glass.  We found an amazing central atrium and surrounded it with jungle items to create our final version of Pia’s bedroom, and we dug how it came out!

PETA: SILENT SCREAM

Dirty Robber’s Josh Hegaard reached out to PETA in the summer of 2011 lending our creative and production support.  After several brainstorming sessions with Dirty Robber’s development team, we finally landed on “Silent Scream”.  A year later this very spot was submitted to FOX aiming for airtime during Gordon Ramsay’s “Hell’s Kitchen.” The spot was rejected due to it’s controversial nature.

Dirty Robber was thrilled to work with PETA and hopes to bring many more heated topics to life.

See the spot here.

New Music Video: Weary Soul

Our latest editorial piece is a music video for Mark Stoermer, the bassist for The Killers, directed by the wildly imaginative Roboshobo.  The video is a glimpse into a touching ritual carried out by a dry cleaner moonlighting as a spirit guide.
Look for shots of our neighborhood drycleaner – the iconic Vamco building in Silver Lake.

You can see the video here.

Finding Ultra

Check out our latest book trailer, FINDING ULTRA.
As he entered his 40s, Rich Roll realized he wasn’t living up to his full potential; he was working 80 hour weeks, eating cheeseburgers like there was no tomorrow, and was 50 pounds overweight.
Then he came to a decision moment, and set out to tackle the elite UltraMan competition on the Island of Hawaii.  Even more dramatically, he was going to do it powered only by plants.

This trailer was designed to capture the energy of intense athletic achievement while also reflecting Rich’s life affirming and fun loving spirit.  Shot on the RED Epic over the course of an enjoyable day in the Malibu hills, Finding Ultra was directed by Charles Haine with cinematography by Kim Culotta.
